I had the same issue with the GT and all the way back to the MIII i had the same issue. Works great with the blues jr and every other model i like. Hitting the front end with a stomp for singing sustain just doesn't work well. But i have one problem with it that I have not been able to work around. The 65 deluxe has been moving up towards the #1 fav spot for me. Mustang GTX works much better than Katana if you have a silent stage and work with in ear monitors - and you can edit everything right on the amp - no computer or ipad requiredÄŻind an old Boss FV-50L (Low Impedance) Stereo volume pedal and put it in the Mustang GTX rear stereo FX loop - set it to half way While the Mustang GTX has a Stereo Headphone output and STEREO FX ! ![]() add the Katana mono Headphone Output is worse than a 1982 Crate Amp While the Katana with its Class AB Power Amp is more like a Marshal MG solid state amp ( same ST Micro Class AB Power Amp IC used in both) - results in Katana having a sweet spot for its best tone - which is often too loud for many folks playing at home While the Speaker type always plays a large role in the final resulting tone, the Mustang GTX gets bulk of its tone from the DSP - results in a platform capable of delivering same tone and feel at lower decibel levels. This Power Amp is very clean low distortion faithful reproduction of the input signal- similar icepower Amp modules are used in PA systems for their extreme efficiency, low distortion and ability to faithfully reproduce the input signal The Mustang GTX "Power Amp" is an icePOWER 100AS Class D Power Amp - these were designed by Bang & Olufson ![]() Mustang GTX is very different, closer to a Line-6 Vetta = all the tone is done in its DSP - including saturated Power Amp Modeling and Cab Sim modeling. The Katana is basically the DSP from a Boss GT-100, feeding a Class AB Power Amp - the Katana reacts very differently depending on its decibel levels and relies on driving that Class AB Power amp with a higher signal level into saturation to get its best Lead tones from its Speaker. Katana vs Mustang are different paradigm designs It does not need any "AMP Wattage Attenuator" or a Power Amp wattage change selector ( like the Katana does) Click to expand.Play the actual Mustang GTX Amp first
